Taxes on interest

For a consumer loan, KKDF and BSMV are charged on each month's interest. A loan taken for business purposes is a commercial loan: KKDF is 0 % on TL loans and BSMV is 5 %, and the BDDK consumer limits do not apply. This calculator is built for individuals.

Questions

Can I get a loan for a Tesla in Turkey?

A Tesla is imported, so BDDK decision 10099 applies, not the EV decision 11158. Under 10099 no consumer vehicle loan is allowed when the final invoice value is above 2,000,000 TL; between 1,200,000 and 2,000,000 TL the loan is at most 20 % of the value, over at most 12 months.

What does the 7.5 million TL EV limit mean?

BDDK decision 11158 of 6 March 2025 covers only fully electric cars made by domestic producers (Corporate Tax Law 5520, provisional art. 12). For them the loan can be 70 % up to 2.5 million TL (48 months), 50 % up to 5 million (36 months), 30 % up to 6.5 million (24 months) and 20 % up to 7.5 million TL (12 months). Above 7.5 million TL no loan is allowed.

How are KKDF and BSMV added to the instalment?

On a consumer loan, KKDF (15 %, decision 2010/974) and BSMV (15 %, decision 7345 of July 2023) are charged on each month's interest, not on the principal. The instalment is calculated at the gross rate: monthly rate × 1.30.

Do the limits apply to a company or a sole proprietor?

The BDDK term and loan-to-value limits are set for consumer loans (Credit Regulation art. 12). A loan for business purposes is a commercial loan, where KKDF on TL loans is 0 % (decision 10094, July 2025) and BSMV is 5 %. Ask your bank which applies to you.
